Customs:

As many of you will be aware the NZ Customs is currently investigating the possibility of taking the user pays they do to a much higher limit than is currently operated.
This would mean that every Export entry was subject to a processing fee; the current Import Customs entry fee would be increased from $16.00 to $20.00 per entry. All imports will also be subject to another fee based on the number of consignments in each consolidation.
Customs will be holding another public meeting to discuss these new fees in the near future, and you may want to attend. Certainly IDS will be attending to represent all out customers to ensure that these fees are kept to a minimum, as we believe that this section of government is already well funded.
We will keep you up to date on this issue as the week’s progress.

Freight Rates:

Just a reminder to all our Freight forwarding customers that most lines have a GRI (General Rate Increase) due to hit the market on October the 1st.
We will contact you all individually to talk to you about what it means for each trade lane.

Imports:

Darren is off on Holiday this month, taking his family back to Zimbabwe for a 3-week holiday to visit his parents. They have not been back for many years, so they are all looking forward to it. Especially I think his parents are keen to see his 6-year-old daughter, their lovely grandchild.
Angela Murray McGregor will be looking after Imports and customers, with some assistance form Micah and Wendy while Darren is away. Angela has temped for us before, and has a wealth of knowledge in International Freight so you are all in good hands.

Sales:

The lovely Sara is out on the road, looking after all our sales enquiries now, so if you need any rates, feel free to give her a ring on 256-0736, or 0274-811164, she will be only too glad to assist.

Wendy will be off on maternity leave for approximately two months in October and November, as they are expecting the birth of their first child on the 21st of September. As Wendy is always late, we expect that the baby will be too.
